Salix Yurts wedding venue
The Salix Yurts are a charming and unusual wedding venue for those that are looking for something a little bit different. Located in Wigginton near York these semi permanent yurts can cater for upto 100 daytime and 150 evening guests. The Salix Yurts are a part of Louisiannas Weddings who offer various unique and special wedding venues throughout North Yorkshire.
The Yurts are situated in a countryside location with fields, a lake and parkland offering the perfect backdrop to your wedding celebrations. The yurts themselves are already furnished with tables and chairs, ornate chandeliers and heating. They can be dressed up as far as your imagination will take you.
The venue is available for hire in 3 day chapters leaving you ample time to not only spend your pre-wedding day making the venue uniquely you but you also have time post wedding to relax in the quiet surroundings and reflect on your day. Glamping and a spacious caravan park gives those guests who are travelling from afar accommodation to spend more time with you either before or after your wedding celebrations.
Your wedding prep can take place in one of the glamping pods that are just down from the main site. The pods are well equipped and spacious and the surrounding areas provide fabulous and unique places for your details photos.
A well maintained and fabulous open space, lined with trees and well established hedgerows is a brilliant setting for your outdoor wedding celebration. Guests will take their seats and you can walk down a grassy aisle where you will be met by a celebrant who will provide your guests with heart warming stories about your relationship leading you on to say your vows.
Celebrants provide a wonderfully personal touch to a wedding often giving away the little secrets and endearing you to your families and friends even more than before. Quirky touches can be added to the service to make your wedding day uniquely you.
As you walk back down the aisle it’s a great chance for your guests to shower you with confetti and congratulations as you take your first walk together as a married couple.
This is a great opportunity to have some group and family photos taken. Not only do we have all your guests together in one place but it’s also a very pretty backdrop. Guests and couples don’t always want to spend huge amounts of their day standing around taking photos.
I will have asked you for a photo list prior to your wedding that ensures these all important photographs are done quickly, efficiently and with minimum time taken from your days celebrations.
We will head back up to the main yurts where you can all enjoy canapes and a welcome drink. Gravel and grass surround the yurts and there is ample seating for everyone to enjoy the quaint surroundings as you circulate and talk to everyone. Couples may decide on some entertainment at this point, perhaps a singer or magician will provide amusement during this time. Salix Yurts have an extensive list of recommended suppliers from caterers, to singers through to evening DJ’s.
At this point in your day I may suggest walking away with me for some photographs of just the two of you. This is a perfect chance for you to spend a few precious moments together in what is a very busy day. Remember, your day is about you so do grab this opportunity for a little “us time”. Your portrait photos are done in a very relaxed way with some gently posing giving you beautiful photos for your wedding album that are natural looking.
We can make use of the fabulous spaces and quirky places that Salix Yurts has to offer. Rustic farm gates, a vintage tractor, quaint little lanes and the lake to name but a few.
Your guests will be seated in the deceptively spacious yurts for your wedding breakfast. You’ll be announced in to a standing ovation and rapturous applause as you head to the top table to begin the wedding speeches.
Wedding meal consumed I suggest a walk out in the fresh air, a bit of a breather to set you up for the evening celebrations. Salix Yurts is often blessed with fabulous sunsets so we can take advantage of this and also have some special night photos which will take pride of place in your wedding album.
You wedding cake is set up and ready for you to cut, guests will love this opportunity to get out their phones and photograph your cake cut.
Now you can take to the floor and have your first dance as a married couple. I always stay around 30 minutes after the first dance and hopefully the dance floor is filled for me to take photos as everyone lets their hair down for the evening.
My full day wedding packages encompass your preps through till after your first dance. I will arrive at your venue 2 hours before the ceremony begins and stay with you throughout the day taking candid, documentary style photos of the story of your day. I feel it’s very important to have your wedding photos in print as well as a digital record which is why I include either a photobook or wedding album in all my full day packages.
