Cheryl and Jamie married at Sneaton Castle but their love of Whitby led them to have their engagement photoshoot there and also jump in my car for some photos at their favourite places around this fabulous town.
Nathan and Rachel had an intimate wedding ceremony at Ryedale Folk Museum with just close family. The love the bleakness of the North York Moors so we headed up to Rosedale Moor and the old Iron Mine Kilns at the top of Chimney Bank for their wedding photos.
Avone and Sky married at Danby Castle, Avone is a huge film fan and wanted to recreate a photo from Skyfall, the low lying fog added an eerie atmosphere to their photos.
Matt and Kerrie live in Westerdale and married in their local Church. This pretty little village sits amidst moorland that stretches around it so the photo opportunities are endless, we made use of one of the many packhorse bridges that are located in and around Yorkshire.
Abbie and Tom married in The Marine Hotel in Hartlepool, he hotel grounds are limited with photo opportunities so we headed to the beach and beach huts for their photos. I love the colour of these huts.
Sarah and Phil married at Newton Hall in Northumberland. A winter wedding, the weather was typically British but they braved the wind and biting cold for a trip to the beach.
Lucy and Adam married at The Spa Hotel in Saltburn. This fabulous wedding venue is a stones throw from the beach and the historical Saltburn Pier so where better to choose for your wedding photo session.
Nat and Rich are from Whitby and love a walk down the sea front towards Sandsend. Initially Natalie felt she should stay with her guests but I talked her into a quick trip and these photos are some of her favourites from the day and took several double page spreads in her album.
Katy and Callum married at Danby Castle and had the Beacon lit at Danby on the evening of their wedding and we stopped at Duck Bridge on the way back.
Ashleigh and Jess married at Whinstone View which sits beneath Roseberry Topping, the beautiful evening light gave us some beautiful portraits of these two witht he hill sitting proudly as a backdrop.
Tkiri and Lee loved their bit of time away together. A shy couple who don’t really enjoy attention the half hour away from their wedding set them up nicely for the evening celebrations.
Sarah and Dan married in their local church and held their wedding reception at home on the farm. We took a drive down the path to the fields beyond where they’d spent a lot of their time together.
Louise and Trevor married at The Engine Shed, this unique wedding venue has only a car park outside so a little planning was needed and we decided on the River Wharfe and it’s beautiful bridge.
Lucy and Sam love Goathland and despite living a good journey away they married here in The Mallyan Spout Hotel and we went up on to the moors with Dad’s vintage car for some memorable photos.
No need to drive for Jen and Gary’s wedding but we did enjoy a stroll around the city of York for their wedding day after marrying at the registry office.
Tony and Helen chose to marry at a time of year when the heather was in full bloom up on the moors beyond Danby Castle.
And who doesn’t love the beach, the blue sea and a beautiful sky for wedding photos, and Sandsend beach is one of the loveliest and chosen by Rich and Leoni after their wedding at Farndale House in Whitby.

The decision to have a wedding portrait session is a personal one and it’s worth putting some thought into it before your wedding day. You can do this at the venue where you’ve chosen to marry or perhaps there’s a place or location that means something to you both. I have a car big enough for the hugest of wedding dresses and am always happy to drive to another location for you to have some wedding photos done that are unique to you and your day.
