Ox Pasture Hall is a former farmhouse that has been beautifully transformed into a luxury hotel and Spa. Sitting in 17acres of grounds the hotel is on the outskirts of the coastal town of Scarborough. This country house hotel is privately owned and consistently rates as one of the top hotels in Yorkshire and offers guests luxury suites and home comforts.
Ox Pasture Hall caters for weddings of all sizes be they an intimate ceremony or a larger wedding that includes all your family and friends. You have choices of the restored barn for your indoor wedding ceremony or you may choose to marry under one of the thatched gazebos for an outdoor wedding. Ox Pasture’s stunning panoramic views of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park provide the perfect backdrop to your wedding celebrations.
You’re wedding day will begin with preparations in one of the hotels luxury rooms. I will join you 2 hours before your ceremony to take those all important photos of your wedding preparations. If you are both getting ready at the hotel I can move seamlessly between you both. If your partner is getting ready at a different location but you would like these photos taking you can add an additional photographer to your package.
Ox Pasture Hall has a dedicated wedding team that ensure your wedding day will be the day of your dreams. The location ensures that even with the changing seasons you will be offered charm and inspiration from this wonderful setting. Summer weddings are often held on the lawns to the rear of the hotel. A walk down the rose lined pathways towards your waiting guests results in beautiful photographs. A winter wedding, held in the barn sees you walk onto polished oak floors and down the aisle which can be decorated to suit your chosen theme.
Wedding Photography at Ox Pasture Hall
After your ceremony it’s a great time to do those all important group and family photos. Canapes and welcome drinks are being served giving us a captive audience. Nobody likes standing around waiting for photos so we will do these efficiently and with minimal disruption to your wedding day. If you’ve chosen to have confetti there is a fabulous stone path leading down from the main entrance. This is a fabulous place to have your guests standing at either side as you walk through a cloud of confetti and congratulations.
With your family photos finished I would encourage a short walk around the grounds for some couples portraits. This time isn’t just about the photos but a chance for you have a small piece of time away , just the two of you. You’ll enjoy these moments away from the busyness of the day. I have a very relaxed manner and with some gentle posing you will have photos of the both of you that are natural and will take pride of place in your photo album.
With 17 acres of ground to play with the choices for your photographs are endless. Tree lined lanes, quaint rustic pathways, lavender in the summer and rich colours in the autumn. Your photos will show a true reflection of your day. The space is big enough to take your own personal touches with you, be that a recovery truck or a bouncy castle.
The barn has been transformed to welcome you and your guests for your wedding breakfast. Ox Pasture offers an extensive menu choice for your wedding meal. These range from a 3 course meal to a 5 course gourmet wedding breakfast. This tastefully decorated space is the perfect neutral canvas for you to add the special touches which make your day unique to you. I will photograph your wedding speeches and the guests reactions giving some fabulous candid photos of all the emotions of this time.
You may find at this time your guests will head off to check into their rooms. Maybe you’ve chosen some entertainment for them. If your wedding is towards the latter end of the year we can take advantage of the sunset and the night time drawing in to do some more photos. You may appreciate the chance for a breather and to walk off your meal setting you up nicely for the evening celebrations.
The lights in the barn are lowered to a warm and romantic ambience ready for your first dance as a married couple. Your evening guests will have arrived and invited onto the dance floor to watch as you sway to your chosen song. Your cake cutting will follow and then it’s up to you and your guests to have a night to remember.

If you booked either my photobook, wedding or prestige album wedding package I will stay for around 30 minutes after your first dance to photograph you and your guests’ dance moves. My trio album package includes dance floor coverage from myself and a second photographer until 10pm, when the fun really starts !
At just an hour away from Ox Pasture Hall I am perfectly located to meet couples here for a walk around the venue or even a pre-wedding photoshoot. These shoots always make a lovely introduction to have your photos taken by a professional. It’s a great way to show even the most camera shy of couples that they really don’t need to be nervous.
Your wedding photos are a keepsake of one of the most important days of your life. My full day packages all include either a photobook or an album.
