Sandburn Hall Wedding venue
Sandburn Hall Hotel opened in May 2021 and is a part of the Sandburn Hall estate. Located on the outskirts of York amidst beautiful countryside this wedding venue gives rustic charm and elegance yet has stayed true to it’s Yorkshire roots and heritage.
Your wedding ceremony will be held in the spectacular oak framed hall, with huge windows that not only let the light flood in but give views of the fairway, fountain and lakes beyond. The purpose built White Rose garden is also an option if you wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony. Filled with flowers in the summer months and a superb backdrop for your wedding photos this makes for a truly romantic setting.
I will arrive 2 hours before your wedding ceremony to begin your preparation photos. If you’re both getting ready at the venue I can photograph these by moving between the two of you. If your partner is dressing at a different location you could always add a second photographer to your package.
The Great Hall sits in the main building. This fabulous space is decorated in neutral tones and has a beautiful wooden floor. This blank canvas is perfect for you to add your own colour scheme and make it uniquely you. Bathed in light you will say your vows in front of the huge windows and the spectacular view.
After signing the register you will walk back down the aisle to rapturous applause where your welcome drinks will be waiting for you and your guests. I would always suggest that this be a good time to take a group photo and have confetti photos with all your guests and get those all important family and friend groupings.
I’ll have asked you for a list of these photos so they are done quickly and efficiently so as not to disrupt the flow of your wedding day celebrations. Sandburn Hall has acres of space and lovely backdrops for these photos.
As your guests mingle maybe this would be the time for me to take you away for a few portrait photos. I pride myself on being able to make even the most camera shy of couples very comfortable during this time. I don’t do awkward posing but gently prompt you resulting in photos that are beautiful but also very natural. This time is also very special for you both to take a few minutes to yourselves away from the busyness of the day.
Sandburn Hall has gardens, woodlands, rustic gates and quaint country lanes. Endless choices for wedding photos that are uniquely you.
During this time the Great Hall will have been transformed into your wedding breakfast room.
This fabulous space is huge giving plenty of space around the table for you to speak to your guests and work the room. Sandburn Hall offers an extensive menu to choose from to cater for all tastes. The top table is placed beneath the window at the head of the room where you can give your wedding speeches to the eager crowd beyond.
Sandburn Hall sits alongside a golf course and once the players have finished accessing the course we are able to use this space for some night-time photos if you wish. The hotel is often blessed with the most stunning sunsets and boasts fabulous and quirky wooden bridges that provide access to the fabulously reflective lake.
It’s nice to walk off your wedding breakfast and grab some fresh air to rejuvenate before the evening celebrations begin.
The room is ready and the space cleared for your dance floor. There is ample space for you to have a live band if you wish to. Your cake is set up for cutting, always a favourite photo opportunity for your guests.
Will you have your guests seated for your first dance ? Maybe you’d like them stood in a welcoming circle ready to dive in at a moments notice to take over and carry on the dancing to really get your evening off to an energetic start.
With your evening well under way I stay for around half an hour after your dance to photograph your guests and their dance moves.
