Lazaat Hotel is is a wedding venue located in Cottingham and giving easy access to East Yorkshire. This award winning venue receives highly consistent and excellent reviews and earned it’s place in the Hitched Wedding awards.
The hotel caters for all sizes of wedding from the small and intimate family wedding to the larger and more extravagant. Sitting in over three acres of elegant and well established gardens the hotel is perfectly suited for fabulous wedding photographs. Lazaat has a dedicated wedding team that promise you the day of your dreams. They will spare no effort to ensure your wedding day is one to remember.
You have a choice of three suites in which to hold your wedding each offering something quite special. The distinctive rooms each have their own fully stocked bar, dance floor and outside space. Neutral décor provides a perfect blank canvas for you to decorate your day in your chosen colour or theme to give your wedding an individual and unique look and feel.
The Pavilion Suite boats it’s own grand entrance and private courtyard, gentle lighting and ivory drapes provide a backdrop for however you choose to style your wedding.
The Imani suite is the heart of the main building. Here floor to ceiling windows flood the room with light and the perfect space for up to 100 guests.
The Monsoon and Saffron suite is nicely positioned at the rear of the building. Private and secluded, the mood lighting in this room can be adjusted to provide the perfect ambience.
The venue offers an extensive menu which caters to all tastes and I can vouch for the food myself, it’s superb !
Your wedding day will begin with preparation photos. If you’ve both chosen to get ready in the hotel I can quite easily photograph preps. Alternatively you may want to consider adding a second photographer to your wedding package for complete coverage. The hotel has a fabulous choice of rooms. All are well lit and beautifully presented. I will arrive some two hours before your wedding ceremony allowing me to photograph all the details. Your bridal gown, shoes, your wedding bouquet and jewellery all make beautiful vignettes for the first pages of your wedding album.
Your wedding prep photos are very natural and candid. I like these photographs to show the essence of the start of this most exciting of days.
I may have a chance to pop downstairs and photograph your guests arrivals. However if this is important to you then we can always add a second photographer to your wedding package to ensure full coverage.
I will leave you in the hands of the registrar and take my place at the top of the aisle. A few candid photos of a nervous groom, proud parents and excited guests are taken at this point and we await your arrival.
Your chosen music will be playing as you are escorted down the aisle to your partner. I’m unobtrusive during your ceremony. I don’t use flash but just quietly photograph these special moments.
Once you sign the register and we’ve taken a photo of this your guests will have the opportunity to do the same. Meanwhile I head to the bottom of the aisle ready for you to take your first walk together as a married couple. I would always encourage you to hold back the welcome drinks and canapes. This way we can head straight outside for a group photo of the whole wedding party. This photo almost always gets a pride of place double page spread in the wedding album. A permanent record of those people who were special enough to be invited along to share this day.
We can also use this time for a confetti tunnel. This is where I ask you to walk towards me and smile whilst people throw things at you, the photos are always a favourite. Before your wedding I’ll have asked you to write me a list of any particular group and family photos you would like. We can do these now, quickly and efficiently so as not to disrupt the enjoyment of your day.
As we welcome your guests to partake of a drink and canapes I suggest a few moments away from everyone for a few photos of the two of you. This is a very special time and my couples always tell me afterwards they were glad they had it. Weddings are a very busy day where you spend a lot of time with other people. It is worth grabbing these few moments just to take stock, look at each other and say yay, we got married !
I pride myself on being able to make even the most camera shy of couples very comfortable. As a result you will end up with beautiful photos that are natural looking. if you’re happy to pose and would like more structured photographs, we can do that too.
With your wedding breakfast room ready your guests will have taken their seats. They will of course stand as you make your entrance into the room to rapturous applause. I love photographing wedding speeches, and I love listening to them too. I will take photos of those doing a speech and also the guests reactions be they tears or laughter.
The rooms at Lazaat are very spacious which is perfect for after your meal. You will have plenty of space around the tables to go and chat with people who will welcome you gladly. I always offer my couples another chance to go outside for more photos after their meal. It’s actually really nice to have a walk about and a breath of fresh air. It sets you up nicely for the evening celebrations. We can get the flashes out and do some night-time portraits for you.
If you have decided to have sparklers at your wedding, now is the time.
As we head back inside for your evening celebrations to begin you can cut the cake. This is a photo opportunity that guests love. You can then go straight into your first dance. I hang around for a bit after your dance to photograph the moves of your guests.
