That moment after the confetti settles is when everything shifts. The nerves have melted away, and your celebration begins. The welcome drinks and canapés are often some of my favourite parts of the day to photograph. It’s when guests relax, conversations flow, and genuine laughter fills the air.
My documentary approach means I don’t direct or interrupt; I simply blend in and observe. I’m drawn to the small gestures that often go unnoticed champagne glasses clinking in the sunshine, the both of you catching a quiet breath together, the congratulations from your family, the warm hugs from your friends.

Family and group photos are an important part of every wedding — they’re the images that often end up framed, shared, and passed down. I keep this part of the day calm, efficient, and relaxed, so you can get the photos you want without it feeling like a long photo shoot.
Before the wedding, I’ll help you plan a short list of key combinations, immediate family, bridal party and a few with friends. On the day this list will help everything run smoothly. I’ll organise things quietly, keeping everyone comfortable and at ease. There’s usually plenty of laughter, a few outtakes, and the kind of natural moments that happen when people stop worrying about the camera.
Even though these images are a little more structured, I still approach them with the same documentary mindset. I will focus on real connection and honest expression, not stiff smiles.

As everyone sits down for the wedding breakfast, the energy changes. The excitement of the morning settles into a sense of togetherness. Friends and family gather around tables, sharing food, stories, and laughter. It’s one of my favourite times to photograph because this is when real connection happens.
My documentary approach means I capture these moments as they unfold. The quiet smiles between newlyweds, the bursts of laughter from a shared joke, the small gestures that show just how loved you are. During the speeches, emotion runs high, proud glances from parents, happy tears from friends and moments of pure joy that no one can plan for.
I work quietly in the background, observing rather than directing, allowing every expression and reaction to tell the story naturally. The way light falls across the tables, the clink of glasses, the spontaneous applause. These are the details that bring your wedding story to life.
Couple Portraits – Quiet Moments, Honest Connection
When it comes to couple portraits, my approach is calm, natural, and unposed. I don’t believe in forcing moments or staging emotions. Instead, I’ll suggest stepping away together to breathe, talk, and let everything sink in. It’s usually the first time all day you’ve had to pause and be alone together, and that’s where the real magic happens.
I’ll often walk a little with you, letting conversation and movement guide the photos. It’s in those small, in-between moments, a laugh, a glance and the way you hold each other that the most honest images appear. Whether we’re on a windswept cliff or tucked into a quiet corner of the venue, I look for light, texture, and real connection.
I’ll photograph those moments quietly as they unfold. The looks between you that communicate everything without the need for words, the awkwardness that will become engaging laughter.
My goal isn’t perfection it’s truth. I want your portraits session to leave you with photographs that feel comfortable, genuine, and unmistakably you. Relaxed, connected, and full of life. Evening & Dancing
As the lights dim and the music starts, everything changes. The formalities fade, the shoes come off, and the atmosphere shifts from calm to celebration. This is where the energy really builds. The lights, the music, the noise, the laughter, the movement. All the things that make the evening feel alive.
I photograph the party as it happens, blending in with the guests so I can capture it honestly. No staged dance-floor just real expressions and genuine fun. Whether it’s the first dance surrounded by friends, grandparents tapping their feet, or someone fully committing to a karaoke moment, these are the images that show the spirit of your day.
I use several flashes and spotlights to bring movement to your evening photos and enhance the atmosphere. The result is a set of images that feel real — the warmth, the colour, the chaos, and the joy.
The evening is when everyone finally relaxes. It’s unscripted, unpredictable, and always full of character.
Night Portraits – Quiet Light, Honest Moments
When the evening winds down and the lights start to fade, there’s often a small window of calm and this is the perfect time for a few night portraits. These aren’t about drama or heavy posing, they’re about atmosphere. The soft glow of fairy lights, the reflection of the venue windows, a quiet moment under the night sky, simple scenes that carry a lot of feeling.
I like to take just a few minutes, away from the crowd, to capture you both as the night draws in. By this point, all the nerves are gone, and the connection between you feels effortless. That ease shows in your photos, relaxed, natural, and genuine.
Depending on the space and the light, I might use a little creative flash with umbrellas, champagne and smoke bombs or work with the ambient glow from the venue. Either way, the result feels real and timeless, with a touch of mood that only night time can bring.
Night portraits are a quiet reflection of the day that’s just been. A moment to breathe, and one last set of images that close the story softly and honestly.
