Rushpool Hall Wedding venue
Rushpool Hall Hotel Saltburn in North Yorkshire is a Goth inspired Victorian building dating back to 1864 and one of the finest venues North Yorkshire can offer for your wedding. Built originally for a pioneer ironstone miner it is now a beautiful wedding venue. Rushpool Hall is one of three sister venues owned and run by the Gilchrist collection. Standing proudly on the outskirts of Saltburn and overlooking the North Sea this is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph weddings.
Rushpool Hall is set in it’s own grounds with unique architecture and a landscape that changes with the seasons. Thus ensuring beautiful wedding photographs that will be treasured for years to come.
The team at Rushpool Hall have just one goal in mind. That is to give you and your partner the best day of your lives and a wedding to remember.
The latest addition to the venue is a purpose built “getting ready room”. Bright, light and airy with makeup stations and wall to wall mirrors this is the perfect place for your wedding preparation photos. Rushpool Hall has so many wonderful features both inside and out which I love to make the most of when photographing your wedding dress, shoes and jewellery.

Rushpool Hall Wedding photography
My full day packages include my arrival two hours before your ceremony and photographing your wedding day as it unfolds and finally capturing your first dance as a married couple. If your partner is also getting ready at the hotel I can do both prep photos. If they’re staying somewhere else you can add a second photographer to catch these moments.

I have a very relaxed and unobtrusive style of wedding photography and can make even the most camera shy of couples very comfortable, very quickly. Prep photos are candid, in the moment photos which always make a great opening page of your wedding album.

Rushpool Hall wedding
Rushpool Hall offers a choice of indoor or outdoor ceremonies. The ballroom is beautifully decorated and waiting for you to add the final touches with your chosen colour scheme and wedding decor.

A beautiful honeymoon suite is prepared for you to finally step into your wedding gown once your hair and makeup are finished. This spacious room is the perfect backdrop for your last few photos with parents or your bridesmaids before you take the sweeping staircase and your walk down the aisle.

The ornate staircase at Rushpool Hall is just one of it’s many endearing features. The sun shines through the stained glass gothic window giving perfect light as you step down towards the ballroom. This is always one of my favourite photographs. As a result it is often chosen as a double page spread in many couples wedding albums.

Your Ceremony
During your wedding ceremony I can make use of the internal doors at the side of the venue. As a result I am able to seamlessly move from front to back enabling me to photograph your ceremony from differing angles. If you’ve booked a second photographer there will be one of us in both of these positions throughout.

With your vows said and the register signed your walk back down the aisle together will take you through to the main room. Here one of Rushpool Halls dedicated wedding team will be on hand with a celebratory drink. Your guests will be gently ushered outside where you can have a confetti throw if you wish. The beautiful Gothic building providing the perfect backdrop.

Group Photographs
As we have the full attention of your wedding guests I would always suggest that this be the time for your group and family photos. The stone stairs are the ideal location for these. Easily accessible and convenient they are the prefect backdrop. Lined with trees and the temple standing proudly behind.

Couple Portraits
With the traditional photos taken, efficiently so as not to keep anyone standing around, your guests will be offered welcome drinks. If you choose to we can take a few minutes to make use of Rushpool’s beautiful surroundings for some portraits of you both. I would always encourage this time. Not just for the photos but for you both to take a step back and enjoy a moments quiet with each other. Rushpool has so many wonderful locations for photos. The woods leading down to the lake change with the seasons. There are quiet little pathways, temples, sprawling lawns and ancient trees.

During this time the ballroom is transformed seamlessly from ceremony room to wedding breakfast room. The plan you have for your table decorations will come to life as the wedding team prepare for your wedding breakfast. Your guests will be seated in this comfortable room. When your arrival is announced you will be received with a standing ovation. Rushpool Hall has an extensive menu catering for all tastes. You can be assured of a beautiful meal you and your guests will enjoy. This will set you up nicely for your wedding speeches.

Night Time Photos
After your meal I offer the chance for some night time photos if you’d like them. Guests tend to check into their rooms at this point in the day. Sometimes it’s nice to enjoy some fresh air and walk off your dinner, getting you ready for the evening celebrations.

As the ballroom is prepared for the evening reception your cake is brought through. This way you can cut it in full view of all your wedding guests and then move straight into your first dance as a married couple.

I was thrilled this year to have been asked to showcase many of my photos from Rushpool Hall weddings on the walls of the hallway. I am fortunate that my job affords me the pleasure of photographing many weddings at Rushpool Hall. Living just 40 minutes away I am perfectly located to meet couples here and even go into Saltburn itself for engagement and pre-wedding photoshoots. These always make a lovely introduction to the camera. It’s a great way to show even the most camera shy of couples they have no need to be nervous.
Your wedding photographs are a keepsake of one of the biggest days of your life. My relaxed, unobtrusive and individual style creates beautiful wedding photographs to be treasured. My full day wedding packages all include either a photo book or a wedding album. I feel it’s important to have your memories in print. You are creating a family heirloom for future generations. If you are planning your wedding at this wonderful venue do please get in touch. Lets have a chat about how I can help you plan your most special of days.
